Thank you for your interest in booking a field trip with the Western Science Center!
Our aim is to provide an environment where kids are free to discover, interact, and explore the natural history of the Diamond Valley Lake region. Whether it’s determining the age of a fossil bison in our lab or meeting Max the Mastodon, our field trips are the perfect way to introduce your students to the wonders of science.
You can request a field trip in three easy steps:
1. Check Pricing
Cost of Field Trips to the Western Science Center:
Field Trip Student General Admission: $ 5.00 per student
Field Trip Teacher General Admission: $ 0.00 (free)
Field Trip School Approved Chaperone General Admission: $7.00 each
Optional Discovery Lab for Grades K-12: $2.00 per student
Optional Owl Pellet Lab for Grades 2nd – 12th: $3.00 per student
Optional Bison Lab for Grades 9th – 12th: $5.00 per student

All non – school approved chaperones and additional guests are charged the general Museum admission fees. Please note that memberships and/or other admission passes/coupons cannot be used for field trips.
2. Read Our Field Trip Guidelines
Read the field trip guidelines prior to requesting a field trip – the Guidelines will provide you with all of the information you need to ensure you and your students have a safe visit to the museum.
3. Choose Your Field Trip Date
Refer to the calendar below when requesting a field trip date. If a date is blank, that means there is no availability. Please note that your field trip date is not reserved until you receive confirmation from the Education Specialist after you submit your request.
You cannot book a field trip from the calendar, it is for reference only. You must click the “request a field trip booking here” link in step 3.
4. Book Online to Request a Field Trip
Now you’re ready to book your field trip!
We want everyone to have a chance to visit the Western Science Center, and our field trips book very quickly. For this reason, if payment is not received two weeks before your reserved field trip date, we will release your spot to another school and you will be considered a group visit with no lab or field trip coordination available. The group rate is $5.00 per person with a minimum of 20 guests ages 5 and up to qualify. Please note that memberships and/or other admission passes/coupons cannot be used for field trips. The Western Science Center does not accept purchase orders as form of payment. The Western Science Center does not provide refunds. Thank you.
