Ice Age Soirée 2016
October 8, 2016
6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Ice Age Soirée is SOLD OUT. Thank you to everyone who RSVP’d – we’ll be bringing this event back in Spring 2017!
Join us October 8, 2016 for our first annual Ice Age Soirée, a 21+ event to celebrate 21 years since Max the mastodon’s discovery!
With food, drink, music, and more, Ice Age Soirée promises to be the perfect night out! Join us for “5 Minute Science”, where you’ll have a chance to talk science with local scientists and researchers, and try your hand at our KEVA Plank building contest! Then explore the museum to your heart’s content as we continue to celebrate 21 years since Max’s excavation!
Food & Drink
Enjoy dinner and wine under the stars in our beautiful museum piazza! Filet mignon, fresh salmon, New Mexico highland peppers roasted on site by Bautista Creek Ranch and more – check out our full dinner menu here!
KEVA Plank Building Contest
Bring a few extra dollars to the event and vote with your donations in our KEVA Plank Building Contest! Contestants will battle it out to build the best KEVA Plank structure – the winner receives either a mastodon tooth cast OR a family membership to the museum (good for one year).
5 Minute Science
It’s speed dating – with science! Sit down with local scientists and educators. Got a question about archaeology, anthropology, or paleontology? Now’s the time to ask! Visit every scientist and receive an exclusive Ice Age Soirée button!

The museum is open! Explore the museum after dark and find out if you would have survived the Ice Age.
