*Please note that your child’s spot in a camp is not held until payment is fully processed. Payments by phone are processed during regular museum business hours, Tuesday – Sunday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

K – 3rd Grades
Small Hands Science Camp (Entering K –1) *CURRENTLY FULL*
Instructors: Krystle Sibole and Margaret Ozolins
A perfect camp for the curious young scientist! Each day campers will explore science through hands-on experiments, crafts, stories and games.
Session 3, June 27 – July 1

Jr. Engineering Lab (Entering 1-3) *CURRENTLY FULL*
Instructor: Margaret Ozolins
Design, build and create with this fun camp! Jr. Engineers will discover the science behind
different fields of engineering through hands-on activities and engineering challenges.

Jr. Time Traveler’s Camp (Entering 1-3)
This special mini-camp is 3 days of fun for all Jr. Time Travelers! Come and explore past cultures through crafts, games, food and fun! This camp will be using some food so please let us know of any food allergies when registering.

Art and Nature Camp (Entering 1-3)

Explore the nature of our world with art projects! Be creative with fun and engaging arts and crafts as you explore our natural world and the beauty within it! Old favorites along with all new activities! Part A and B are unique sessions, so campers can attend one or both sessions.

Inventor’s Camp (Entering 3-5) *CURRENTLY FULL*
Instructor: Margaret Ozolins
Discover the science and imagination behind some of the world’s most famous inventors and scientists. Through hands-on activities and experiments, find out how they have changed the world we live in while finding your own inventor’s spark!

Messerific! Camp (Entering 3-5)

Ok, we know the word is made up, but what better way to describe this terrific and messy camp! Have fun while getting creative. From splat painting to snack food towers, this camp will be Messerific! Part A and B are unique sessions, so campers can attend one or both sessions. This camp will be using some food so please let us know of any food allergies when registering.

Middle – High Schoolers
Excavate: Paleontology! (Entering 6-11)
Instructor: Darla Radford
What animals once roamed the earth? Learn field techniques, procedures and ethics of
paleontology and be ready to get dirty while excavating at our outdoor Simulated Dig Site and lab. What stories will the fossils tell you?
Session 1, June 13 – 17

DNA Biology Lab (Entering 7-12)
Instructor: Dr. Nick Reeves
With Dr. Reeves from Mt. San Jacinto College leading this exciting camp, you will explore the structure and function of DNA through hands-on experimentation culminating in the transformation of a normal bacteria strain into a glowing genetically modified bacterial strain!

Molding and Casting Lab (Entering 6-11)
Learn about prehistoric animals in the Western Science Center research lab as you create your own replica fossil to take home! Learn how scientists mold and cast fossils to use in research, education, and exhibits while you study the ancient animals in the museum’s collection.

 Make It A Day

The Western Science Center is offering a supervised lunchtime for campers signed up for both morning and afternoon camps in the same week session. Supervised lunchtime is $2 each per camper, per day. Camper must bring their own lunch.

Lunchtime: 12:00pm – 12:30pm

Registration for the supervised lunchtime program is required at least two weeks before camp begins.
